Specdrums Web

A hands-on music and color activity for young children using a physical Sphero Specdrums Bluetooth ring.

What children do

They tap colored surfaces with the ring. The website shows the matching color and plays a recorded drum or instrument sound. The child-facing board stays locked until a ring is connected. An adult can choose from five sound kits, including drums, percussion, piano, and other instruments.

Privacy and network behavior

No student accounts, advertising, chat, user-generated public content, or in-page analytics scripts. Cloudflare still receives normal requests to host the site.
No camera, microphone, location, payment, USB, or serial access is requested.
Built-in audio and application files are served from play.scotthome.xyz; there are no third-party audio hosts.
The Bluetooth ring connects directly to the child's browser after browser permission. Imported sounds and settings remain in that browser's local storage and are not uploaded to the site.

School-managed Chromebooks

The site needs HTTPS, browser audio, and Web Bluetooth. The school may separately restrict the website or Bluetooth access. Approval of the website alone does not override device policies. A school administrator can review play.scotthome.xyz in Securly and choose whether to allow it for the appropriate students.
